We are hosting one of the finest duos of Indian classical musicians—Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan and Ustad Zakir Hussain—in a performance aptly named Classic Souls. Both these artists are the pride of India and have played an ‘instrumental role’ in spreading traditional Indian music and culture internationally. Their global fame precedes them and their contributions to their respective instruments—Sitar and Tabla—are so great, that today, these instruments are associated with their names.

Their dazzling charm and vivid presentation lets on-stage excitement permeate throughout the auditorium.

Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan is one of the finest sitar players alive today. His dazzling virtuosity and innovative genius have earned him a legacy as a giant of the sitar. He is a seventh generation heir to the sitar's first family, the Etawah Gharana. Ustadji's global reputation as an awe inspiring performer is complemented by another rare gift - his ability to spread his music as a dedicated and loving guru.

Zakir Hussain is today appreciated both in the field of percussion and in the music world at large as an international phenomenon and one of the greatest musicians of our time. A classical tabla virtuoso of the highest order, his consistently brilliant and exciting performances have established him as a national treasure in his own country, India, and as one of India’s reigning cultural ambassadors.
